Thirty students selected from among the more than one hundred registered were in charge of presenting solutions to the challenges posed by the five participating companies. These solutions have been generated after three months of intense work, in which eleven working sessions have been held, several conversations with different experts to increase the vision of innovation processes in companies and three meetings between companies and work teams.
The day began with the institutional welcome by Esteban Pelayo, manager of the PCA and Sergi Soriano, director of the Secretariat for Employment and Student Support of the UA. In his speech, Soriano pointed out that ‘just participating in this type of initiative organised by the UA Employment Centre gives you an advantage over your colleagues who do not, because it provides you with a series of tools and skills that will be very useful in your incorporation into the labour market’.
The jury of the sixth edition awarded the highest score to the social robotics company, linked to the PCA, Bumerania, which posed the challenge of building the hotel of the future. As a solution, their team proposed a large portfolio of connected technologies that will be able to adapt hotels to the needs of all people, regardless of whether they have any kind of disability. Among others, they proposed the installation of an AI avatar that will welcome guests in their room and will be able to guide and provide all kinds of information. Different resources to favour mobility within the hotel or biometric devices were other advances proposed in their solution.
The Accenture team presented a solution based on an APP equipped with AI to help elderly people interact with new technologies. They called it ‘IGA, the AI that understands you’.
For their part, the team from the company Aiudo proposed an initiative they called ‘Aida’, a chat bot with an avatar capable of clarifying all the doubts of the company’s new customers. In addition, they proposed sending a ‘Starter Pack’ with non-digital information to all new users of their services.
The participants from the Benigar team proposed the creation of innovative sales areas, which they called ‘Benibreathe’. These spaces, which will be equipped with the latest technology, will have a cafeteria, charging points for electric scooters, etc., and will become a reference point for the new reality of micro-mobility. In addition, they proposed a complete marketing campaign with raffles, hiring influencers, concerts, etc.
The technology company Facephi proposed as a challenge to the students the generation of initiatives that would help them to attract technological talent. As a solution, the students proposed the creation of ‘Phiclub’, a group that offers its members different activities such as an ‘escapebox’ at certain events, strategic collaborations with influencers in the sector, ‘Facephi Talks’ as tools to meet and talk to experts on topics of interest, workshops, events and technological competitions.
Gennera is part of the ‘Innovative Entrepreneurship Campus’ programme that is developed jointly by the five Valencian public universities, and is coordinated and funded by the Department of Innovation, Industry, Trade and Tourism of the Generalitat Valenciana with the aim of promoting entrepreneurship and innovation in the university environment.
